This is a zine, both written and designed by me. It walks you through the concept of “ugly” graphic design throughout history, starting from the 1970s Punk era, up until current “ugly” graphic design styles. In the zine, I discuss the concept in which certain designers made artistic choices that, initially, were considered ugly; only to eventually, over time, become more normalized, and soon enough implemented in other designer's works in the future . Therefore asking, is there even such a thing as ugliness in graphic design? Or have we seen it all before?
